Intel, 13th generation core processor disclosure. Sleep smoothly in late October

Intel unveiled the 13th generation core processor (Raptor Lake), a new PC processor, at the ‘Intel Innovation’ event on the 27th (Western time, at 1 am at Korea time).

The 13th generation core processor for desktop has inherited the hybrid core structure applied to the 12th generation core processor (Elder Lake), and has increased to up to twice the Core (based on the core i9-13900K) depending on the E-core-mounted water product.

In particular, in addition to the K-product line that can be overclocked, this generation is also equipped with an E-core in the general core i5 processor.

Intel plans to supply six 13-generation core processors for desktops for overclock such as Core i9-13900K/KF, Core i7-13700K/KF, and Core i5-13600K/KF to the market from the end of October next month.

■ E-core up to 2 times increased… Core i5 product line is also installed

In the pre-briefing in Tel Aviv, Israel, Mandy OK Intel Desktop and Work stand Channel Group, said, The P-core operating clock of the 13th generation core processor has improved up to 5.8 GHz and the e-core has doubled.

The L2 cache, an internal repository that contains the data used by the processor, has also increased significantly. P-core’s L2 cache has increased from 1.5 MB to 2 MB and the L2 cache of the e-core cluster has increased to 4 MB.

In particular, in addition to the K-product line that can be overclocked, this generation is also equipped with an E-core in the general core i5 processor. This allows consumers to enjoy hybrid core in the environment that runs multiple programs at the same time.

■ Secure compatibility with existing motherboards, improves overclock convenience

The 13th generation core processor, like the 12th generation product released last year, uses the LGA 1700 socket. If you update the motherboard’s firmware (BIOS) to the latest version last year, you can replace the processor to upgrade.

Supporting both DDR4 memory and DDR5 memory is the same as the 12th generation processor. The price difference between the DDR5 memory and the DDR4 memory has narrowed, but the DDR4 memory will continue until 2024, and the goal is to provide flexibility to consumers by supporting both standards.

The overclock function of the Core i9-13900K and the i5-13600K will also be improved. You can set up the operating clock differently by core using ‘Extreme Tuning Utility’ (ITU), a dedicated software, and automatically overclock at the time using ‘Speed Optimizer’.

It supports the XMP (Extreme Memory Profile) 3.0, which contains data such as operating clock for memory overclock, to improve DDR4 and DDR5 memory overclock convenience and accuracy. Intel said it is working with high-performance memory manufacturers such as Team Group, G-Skill, and Corsair.

■ Up to 24% improvement compared to the previous generation of game performance

The Core i9-13900K processor has improved at least 5%and up to 24%(League of Legends) performance in the game benchmark compared to its previous Core i9-12900K, said Marcus Kennedy Intel Gaming, Creator and e-Sports Manager.

Marcus Kennedy Manager aimed at AMD, AMD claims that the Ry zen 7 5800x3D processor is ahead of game performance, but the Core i9-13900K processor is ahead of all game titles. We will also release it.

Intel also unveiled a demonstration of editing photos with Photoshop as an example of maximizing the benefits of the hybrid core structure. In the test, Intel Core i9-13900K finished the work in a shorter time compared to the Core i9-12900K, Marcus Kennedy said.

Intel collaborates with several software manufacturers, and Vegas, a video editing software, will use the hybrid structure of the 13th generation core processor to improve more than 15% performance.

■ 13th generation core processor, supply to the market without disruption

Intel will supply six 13-generation core processors for desktops for overclock such as Core i9-13900K/KF, Core i7-13700K/KF, and Core i5-13600K/KF to the market from the end of October.

Mandy OK said, The 13th generation core processor will be quickly supplied to the market, just as the 12th generation core processor has been supplied to the market at the end of last year.

The 13th generation core processor is already supplied to 140 customers in more than 30 countries around the world, and more than 70 motherboards will be released at the time of launch.
